I receive a message saying I need to install the .NET Framework. How do I install it? Agridata requires the .NET Framework 2.0 to be installed on your computer. When you install Agridata from Cd-Rom, if the .NET Framework is not installed you will be asked if you would like to install it. Click the 'Yes' button and the installation will take place. You can also download the Framework from here (Broadband recommended). Note: The .NET Framework only needs to be installed once. Use the 'History' option in the Male, Heifers, or Cows menu to display details of the animal wrongly recorded as sold. Select the required animal and its details will be displayed, at the bottom of the screen there is a button which says Cancel this Sale or Loss and put the Animal back in the Herd click this and Agridata will undo the sale.
The solution is the same as the solution above. Agridata can undo a mistake but can't undo a real death (not yet).
Use the 'Update / View details' option in the Male or Heifers menu to update the details of the calf. Change the 'dam's ear tag' to the correct one. If you enter an ear tag which is not valid, Agridata will present you with a list of cows to choose from after you have exited the update screen. Choose one and press 'enter'. The calving history will be amended so that the correct cow is shown calving and the offspring's details will have the correct dam's ear tag shown.
This is easily done. Use the 'Update / View details' option in the Male or Heifers menu to update the details of the calf. Type in the new sex (M or F) and then click on Exit, Agridata will ask if you really want to do this. Click 'Yes' and the sex will be changed such that the calf appears under 'Males' or 'Heifers' as appropriate. The calving history for the dam will also be changed to show the new sex of the calf.
Wrong price and weight or commission details
on sale For sales of sheep use the 'Change Flock history' option to change any details either wrongly entered or not available at the time you recorded the sale.
For cattle sales use the 'Change sale details' option on the 'Males', 'Heifers' or 'Cows' menus.
Don't know the price weight commission or other
charge details upon return from market For cattle and sheep you can leave these details blank but still record the sale in order to keep your movement records up to date. Use the options detailed above (Wrong price and weight) to input the correct details when you have them. Agridata help system won't work The agridata help system requires Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher to function. All computers running Windows 98 or above, should have Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher already, so will be able to use the Agridata help system. If your computer uses Windows 95, and Internet Explorer has not been upgraded then you will need to install a newer version of Internet Explorer. If you require more information please contact us via the Contacts Us page. Agridata has disappeared from the screen
There are two things that would cause Agridata to disappear from the screen, the most common one is that you have minimized the program by clicking on the - symbol at the top of the windows or opening another program which is now showing on top of the Agridata screen. To get Agridata back, located at the bottom of the screen is a gray bar with buttons on it called the Task bar (if the bar is not visible move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and it will appear) one of the buttons will have Agridata written on it click on this button and Agridata will appear. The other reason is that you have closed Agridata down, to start Agridata, view To Start Agridata topic, in the help file. Agridata won't install on my computer running Windows 95 Agridata will only install onto a computer running Windows 98 or above.
Agridata has detected an error what should I
do? When Agridata detects an error, dont panic, note down what you were doing when the error occurred. This will help if you need to call support. Agridata will close down and try to fix the error. When using a HP printer Agridata freezes when printing or previewing a report When using a HP printer you may experience problems when printing or
previewing reports, the computer may freeze, or you may receive a error
message and the program will close. To fix this try installing the latest
HP printer driver from Hewlett-Packard
or if you still experience problems try using a compatible driver from
the Windows CD. How do I check for receipts after applying for passports or sending movements via e-mail? After you apply for passports or send movements via e-mail you will receive a receipt. This usually arrives within a few minutes, but can take up to twenty four hours. To check for a receipt click on the ''Cattle Tractability System / Email SIS' in the 'Setup' menu then 'Get SIS Replies from Internet' finally click the 'Click here to save incoming mail from SIS' button. Agridata will dial up, and download your e-mail's. If any are receipts it will copy them into Agridata. To view the receipts click on ''Cattle Tractability System / Email SIS' in the 'Setup' menu then 'Review Email Messages Sent : check SIS receipts' option. Note: Agridata will only copy unread mail. Wrong e-mail address being used when sending e-mail's to CTS (BCMS) When sending passport applications or movements to CTS (BCMS), they are being sent using my e-mail address registered for receiving e-mail's from CTS (BCMS). To fix this we need to change some settings in your e-mail program. The following instructions apply to Outlook Express 5.0, however other versions, and other e-mail programs will be similar. Start Out Look Express, click on the Tools menu then Accounts, a screen (shown below) will appear with tabs along the top click on the Mail tab. The screen will show a list of all your e-mail accounts, click on the account that you want to send your e-mail's from, then click on the Set as Default button. From now on you mail will be sent from that account.

There is no additional charge to receive online updates, but your support contract must be paid up to date. You will continue to receive updates on CD, but the online updates will be more frequent. You only need to subscribe once.
Do I need email addresse(s) to use the BCMS Web Services? The answer to this is No. To send passports applications and movements to the BCMS or receive data from the BCMS using the BCMS Web Services all you need is access to the Internet (dial up or broadband). I get the following error when using the BCMS Web Servies. CTWS800 - Invalid request; authentication failure. What does it mean? If you receive a CTWS800 - Invalid request; authentication failure when using the BCMS Web Services it means the User Id and or Password entered into Agridata doesn't match what the BCMS have recorded. Make sure you have entered the correct User Id and Password in the Company Setup screen, on the 'CTS Web Users' page. Remember the password is case sensitive, so if the letters in the password are capital they must be entered in capitals. |
